Single Crystal X-Ray Diffraction (SC-XRD) is a technique used to determine the precise three-dimensional atomic arrangement within a crystal. By analyzing how X-rays diffract off a single, well-formed crystal, this method provides the most detailed structural information available, including exact bond lengths, angles and the full molecular architecture of the compound.
A single, well-formed crystal, typically 0.1 to 0.5 mm in size and free of significant defects, cracks or twinning, is required for good quality data collection.
