Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy identifies chemical bonds and functional groups in a sample by measuring how it absorbs infrared light at different wavelengths. Each compound produces a unique absorption spectrum, or "molecular fingerprint," making FTIR a fast and reliable tool for compound identification, quality control and contamination analysis.
FTIR can analyze solids, liquids, powders, films and gels, often requiring minimal to no sample preparation depending on the sampling method used (e.g. ATR, transmission).
